New Belleville Deputy Police Chief

Belleville’s new Deputy Police Chief Paul Vandergraf was sworn in at a ceremony in the Victoria Street court house yesterday. Dignitaries and guests packed the courtroom as Mr. Justice Steven Hunter conducted the swearing-in of the 19-year veteran who came up through the ranks to become Belleville’s Deputy Police Chief.    Paul Vandergraf was the quintessential uniform cop  … everything from  bike patrol, to coach officer, to community policing.   He says being successful in policing means working with everyone in the community.  Vandergraf says one of his biggtest “challenges” will be being one step further from the front lines since the uniform division is his “true love.”
