Detachment Commander to Retire
It is the end of a 35-year policing career in Prince Edward County.
The O-P-P detachment commander, Staff Sergeant Bernie Gaw, will put in his last day at the office tomorrow (friday).
Gaw, who started with the provincial force in 1974, became the detachment commander in 2000.
He says his retirement isn’t official until May, but he is taking a few months of holidays and personal leave time until then. A new detachment commander hasn’t yet been chosen.
