Daryl Kramp would rather be hunting
It looks like local M-P Daryl Kramp would rather be out hunting than debating the future of the long-gun registry.
Some Liberals, New Democrats and one Independent helped the government easily pass a bill last night that would kill the registry, expunge records on more than seven million firearms, and put an end to a one-billion-dollar taxpayer investment.
The bill now goes to a Commons committee for study and possible amendment, setting the stage for another heated national argument over the best way to curb gun violence.
Kramp, as if to highlight the urban-rural divide, issued a statement on his Twitter account, saying he was feeling sorry for himself, since many of his friends are in hunting camps this week, his son-in-law had just bagged a bear, and he was in Ottawa.
