Belleville man convicted of sexually assaulting young girls while he was an Anglican Priest
A Belleville man has been found guilty of molesting five young female parishioners while he was an Anglican Priest in Northern Ontario.
Seventy-six-year-old Kenneth Gibbs was convicted of eight counts of indecent assault in Sault Sainte Marie Superior Court on Monday.
The incidents, involving little girls, happened on church property while he was the minister of an Anglican church in Chapleau from 1966 to ‘71 and another church in Elliott Lake from ‘71 to ‘80.
Gibbs, who will be sentenced on December second, was placed on a five-thousand dollar recognizance, with conditions, and will have to turn his passport over to Belleville Police.
