Canadian rockers, The Trews have a new song out (co-written by Gordie Johnson from Big Sugar), that is dedicated to all the great men and women we have lost during the war in Afghanistan. The number of Canada soldiers who have died since 2002 is 145. Four Canadian civilians and a senior foreign affairs official have also been killed. There are 2,830 Canadian troops currently in Afghanistan with plans to withdraw most of its troops by 2011.
These good ole’ Canadian boys song will help the Hero Fund.
Did you ever stop to think how many hockey moms there are in Canada? We all know that hockey is Canada’s game. According to Hockey Canada, over 300,000 played minor hockey in 2009, with even more playing local recreation leagues, and more than that playing hockey on the local pond.
Theresa Dostaler is a hockey mom from Madoc, Ontario who is joined online by dozens of other hockey moms, who all have one thing in common – their love of their kids and hockey! Dedicated moms all over Canada can join the HOCKEY MOM IN CANADA site and read all the latest info and join topical discussions all about hockey. Great photo gallery where you can send in your photos!
Theresa joined us this morning on the Mix Morning Show! She was up early…of course!
