Think First!

Currently, there are nineteen local Chapters in every province across the country spreading the ThinkFirst injury prevention message. These chapters are managed by dedicated volunteers, some of whom are medical professionals, teachers, coaches, and injury survivors. By implementing ThinkFirst programs in their local communities, such as Brain Day and TD ThinkFirst for Kids program, our volunteers are raising awareness of the simple and effective ways to avoid devastating brain and spinal cord injuries.

Mix97 Spoke with Rebecca Nesdale-Tucker, Executive Director about how we can get involved.

Sean dislikes this! Ba-humbug!

Sean Kelly thinks its ridiculous that Orlena Cain took pics of her and Mikes food last night’s dinner at Claramount Inn and Spa.

This is a work of art – the Executive Chef of The Waring House and Claramount is an artist! If you go there, ask for Candace, she makes your evening memorable!

Currently the Claramount Inn and Spa is taking part in Countylicious and they have a wonderful menu to choose from. The view is beautiful, the service amazing and if you plan on going for dinner, why not add on a LOMI LOMI massage for two and after take a dip in the salt water pool and a hot steam room. What a beautiful place!

Ask for Brandy @ the spa who specializes in Lomi Lomi.

First Ever in Belleville Walk a Mile in Her Shoes Men’s March!

Royal Lepage ProAlliance and Royal LePage Shelter Foundation are announcing a Fantastic Annual Quinte event!

It is the International Men’s March to Stop Rape, Sexual Assault & Gender Violence. A Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® Event is a playful opportunity for men to raise awareness in their community about the serious causes, effects and remediation to sexualized violence.

The fundraiser will take place in downtown Belleville on Saturday, May 14th at noon from the Empire Square where men will attempt to walk in women’s shoes and help raise money for a great cause. All of the proceeds will go to our local Three Oaks for abused women and their children.

Connie Carson joined us in studio to “pump” it up!

Shopping on the Government Website?!

Ever wonder what happens to stolen property, and other items that get lost in the judicial system? Well…the government set up shop online, where you can register and burn out your credit card.

Here’s their explanation:

“Crown Assets Distribution (CAD) is the federal government organization responsible for the sale, distribution, disposal and re-use of surplus federal goods.

Currently over 90 federal Departments and Agencies dispose of everything from computers, office equipment, vehicles as well as military equipment like ships and planes through CAD.”

So, turns out you can buy everything from cars and computers to underwear and kitchen appliances!

Check out the site!
