The Bloomfield Hallowell Recreation Committee fishing derby is Sat May 10th for children and their families on Mill Pond in Bloomfield. The event will run from 9 am to 12noon, with registration Sat morning. There is a minimal $2 fee for children 12 and under. The young anglers are asked to bring their fishing gear and gadgets however bait will be provided. As well, officers from the Prince Edward County OPP Detachment will be in attendance, and there will be prizes for everyone, including trophies for the longest, shortest and funniest catch. There will also be a barbeque lunch for the hungry anglers for a nominal charge. Meals on Wheels volunteers will deliver a hot and nutritious noon meal right to your home. Meals are available up to four times a week, and most special diets can be accommodated. Marmora Legion Branch #237 hosts Cards each Mon at 1p and each Tue at 7:30p, Bingo each Mon at 7p, and Darts each Fri at 7p.

You can donate used items to Prince Edward Community Care's Thrift Shop at 281 Main Street in Picton Tue to Sat from 10am to 4pm. Proceeds go towards helping seniors stay living longer at home. Call the Thrift Shop for more info at 476-1555.
Prince Edward Community Care wants to teach seniors about computers. Courses are designed to go at a reasonable pace and are priced at $15 which includes a manual, tea/coffee and two hour sessions on two days.
