The 10th Annual Canadian Federation of University Women Quinte Garden Tour and Tea is Sat July 18th. Come and enjoy the variety of garden styles and plant materials on this self-guided tour. Musicians from the Quinte Symphony will be playing in select gardens as well as the Jazz duo "After Dark". Tickets are $20 and all proceeds go to university and college scholarships for local students. The admission price includes a Victorian Tea to be served at St. Thomas Anglican Church. The Red Barns at 167 White Chapel Rd. Picton is hosting "Pioneer Days" from 11a until 4p Sat July 18th & Sun July 19th. Admission is a donation to Prince Edward MS Society. Features include artists demonstrations in glass, stone, wood, painting, clay, iron and fibre, and hands on fun for kids. You can pack a picnic or purchase refreshments if you choose. Come out and support your friends and neighbours who are living with the challenges of MS.

The Shrine circus is coming to town on Tue July 14th

Hospice Lennox & Addington is hosting a jewellery class on Tue July 14th from 6:30p to 8:30pm. Students will learn to make toe rings, ankle bracelets and earrings. The technique of crimping will be taught. All materials and tools will be provided. The cost is $35 per person and the class will be held at 91B Dundas Street, Napanee. Suspicious-looking "pirates" have been sighted near Friendship United Church in Demorestville, Prince Edward County. These pirates are the good-hearted sort! They've made port at the church in preparation for The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything-A Veggie-Tales Vacation Bible School scheduled for Mon July 13th to Fri July 17th. Kids from age 3 to 12 are invited for a fun-filled week of Bible adventure with stories, songs, crafts and games. VBS will be held from 9am to 3pm and childcare is available before and after hours for working parents (arrangements to be made ahead of time). Pre-register by calling Rev. On Sun there’s an open house with ground displays from all Canadian Forces Branches and the aerial display including all aircraft flown at CFB Trenton plus the CF-18 Hornet jet fighter demonstration, SkyHawks parachutists, the Snowbirds will perform, the F-86 Sabre jet known as Hawk One, painted with historic Golden hawks colours, a search-&-rescue demonstration with a CH-146 Griffon helicopter and a tactical air drop from a Hercules. Canada Day activities in Belleville take place in Zwick’s park sponsored by the “Buy Locally Owned” group with fireworks @ dusk.

Canada Day in Trenton is in Centennial Park with fireworks @ dusk. Trenton Idol is taking place Wed July 1st at the Amphitheatre in Centennial Park from 12noon until 5p. Sponsored by the Trenton DBIA and Riverside Music.

The Prince Edward Community Care office will be closed Wed July 1st for Canada Day. Meals on Wheels will be delivered as usual

Madoc’s Canada Day activities are in Whytock Park in Madoc Wed July 1st with Horse & Buggy Rides all day from 10a to 6p lots of games including the Dunk Tank, Joust, Obstacle Course, Rock Climbing, duck pond, bouncy castle, golf striker, face painting, lawn bowling and more.
