Worlds Ugliest Dog

He’s not that bad. This is Pabst this years winner of the Worlds Ugliest Dog Contest, a boxer-mix rescued from a shelter by Miles Egstad. Pabst beat former champion Rascal, a pedigree Chinese Crested.

 

Stirling Bottle Drive

S.E.A.R.C.H - Stirling’s Enviornmental and Recreational Community Helpers, has come together to organize the first of many fundraisers in the hopes of replacing the playground equipment at the Stirling Primary and Junior Schools.

Tuesday July 7th, volunteers will be running the roads colleting wine and liquor bottles and beer cans. There will also be a drop-off centre set up at the arena the day of the event between 8am & 7pm.

Breast Cancer Fundraiser

The Weekend to End Breast Cancer is taking place the weekend of September 12th & 13th and a local team of 12 woman are fundraising to participate this year! Which team member much raise a minimum of $2,000 to participate… the money going towards breast cancer research.

Today (Friday July 3rd) $2 from every salad purchased at Wendys in Belleville will go to help support team “Firmly Supported”! Donations are also being accepted throughout the day.

Meet Sarah Jessica Parker & Mathew Broderick’s Daughters

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are sharing the first photo of their twin daughters. The baby girls - Marion Loretta Elwell Broderick and Tabitha Hodge Broderick - were born last Monday at an Ohio hospital. The photo shows the happy family: Parker and Broderick, each holding a twin and 6-year-old son, James Wilkie Broderick, gazing down at one of his little sisters.

 

Invisible Children Fundraiser

Tomorrow (Saturday 27th) a benefit concert and fundraiser for Invisible Children; a non-profit orgnaization dedicated to provising financial resources to help provide health, safety and education for children in Uganda who are affected by a 20-year long war.

The benefit concert begins at 10am in Belleville’s Market Square and features many talented local musicians. There’s also a silent auction, Invisible Children merchandise and Starbucks iced-coffee and lemonade.

 

Katherine Is Returning To “Greys”

My apologies… I’d like to thank a loyal listener to MIX for correcting me.
My belief was Katherine Heigel of Grey’s Anatomy was leaving the hit ABC drama along with T.R Knight (Izzie & George)… I was wrong…

06/21 - Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes and actor T.R. Knight have both released statements confirming Knight’s departure from the show. [...] The fate of Knight’s character, George, was uncertain after this season’s finale. Sources have confirmed that Katherine
Heigl will be returning to the ABC drama next season, but there has been no official statement by Rhimes or ABC. Source: TV Guide Magazine

 

Quinte West Sport & Recreation Show

Thanks to Dave Elmy for stopping by this morning, the Show Manager for the 1st Annual Quinte West Sport & Recreation Show!!

The event runs both Saturday and Sunday at Centennial Park in Trenton, with both indoor (recreational vendors) and outside (rock climbing wall, strong man competition). A weekend of Toys!! Great for Fathers Day.
